The Centre Manager as well as the social worker, Driana Zandberg, offer social assistance, therapy, counselling and family support on a daily basis. They work very closely with the Social Councils in the area. A total of 28 children have already been removed and/or secured this year.
They also operate an after-school centre which houses 30 learners. These children receive help and support from one trained teacher and 2 assistants. They also receive a plate of food daily.
Their Goal
The Lig Therapy Centre provides a safe haven for children where they are led by play based therapy, in order to express their challenges, and where family oriented therapy also creates an opportunity for growth and restoration within family circles.
Where children are in danger or exposed, legal steps are taken to remove and secure them in a place of safety.
